Love for Michael O’Connor Clarke

With heavy hearts and lots of tears we are mourning the loss of a very special man. On Sunday, our dear friend and colleague Michael O’Connor Clarke passed away after a very brave fight against esophageal cancer.

We know we are not alone in our admiration and love for Michael. His fan base spans continents.  Twitter, Facebook and the blogosphere have been bursting with love and mourning for Michael and support for his family. Michael leaves behind a community that admired and loved him deeply.

Whether it was his eloquent writing, his ability to inject creativity into strategic thinking, or his knack for winning new business, Michael’s skills, smarts and charm were key ingredients to Media Profile’s success. But the most important things Michael taught us were about love and family, truly living life, and generosity.

We are so thankful for knowing Michael and having the chance to be his friend. Thank you to everyone who has shared their tributes to Michael:

During such painful times, some comfort can be found in hearing how much Michael loved life, and in return how much he was loved by us all.  Michael’s legacy above all else is his children – Charlie, Lily and Ruairi, and his beloved wife Leona, who meant the world to him.

If you’d like to honour this great man, please consider a donation to his family at www.supportmichaelocc.ca.
