#PassportToMP: A Remote Work Adventure in the Big Apple

Dear New York,

I love you.

As I sit down to pen this letter, my heart overflows with gratitude and affection for the city that became my temporary home, my muse, my guiding star. New York, you embraced me in your vibrant energy and from the very first moment, I knew I had fallen in love.

This past June, in the heart of the Big Apple, amidst the towering skyscrapers and bustling streets, I embarked on a new journey, a month of living and working remotely in the vibrant city of New York. Balancing work and exploration, I experienced the beauty of adapting to the ebb and flow of life in the big city.

My adventure began with a promise to explore every borough, to unearth the hidden gems within each neighbourhood. With each passing day, you revealed new facets of your personality, with each corner telling a different tale.

Every morning, I sought solace in the city’s cozy cafes, where the aroma of freshly brewed coffee and the clinking of cups created a symphony of comfort. With my laptop as my companion, I relished in the blend of productivity and relaxation, knowing that within those walls I was a part of the city’s ever-evolving narrative.

Nestled in the concrete jungle, Central Park allowed me to see that nature and urban life can coexist, creating a harmonious escape within your embrace. At Madison Square Garden, I felt the electric atmosphere and discovered that music binds us all. In Dumbo, under the watchful eye of your bridges, we captured moments in frames. Your cobblestone streets and the rhythm of the East River formed the backdrop to memories forever frozen in time.

The MET and MoMA painted stories from every era and corner of the world. Washington Square Park, Union Square and Times Square were open spaces where we found community and connection, reminding me that in this vastness, friendships bloom. At the Comedy Cellar, laughter echoed, showing me that even in life’s seriousness, humour is our saving grace. Hand in hand, we crossed the Brooklyn Bridge, an emblem of the journey you offer–connecting dreams to reality.

New York, you are a city of dreams, where possibilities are endless and passions ignite. This enchanting chapter of my life would not have been possible without the gracious assistance extended to me by Media Profile. Thanks to Media Profile’s Work Away Benefit, I was able to immerse myself fully in your grandeur, experiencing your vibrancy, and becoming a part of your story. Thank you, my beloved New York, for this cherished month. And thank you, Media Profile, for enabling this chapter of my NYC love story.

They say you’re a tourist when you visit a city, but when you leave, you’re a storyteller. My time with you was more than a mere visit; it was a captivating journey that ignited my soul. Your streets tell tales, your buildings harbour dreams, and your people form the symphony that gives life to your narrative. Each moment spent with you was a page in a love story that continues to unfold. New York, I leave with a heart full of memories, a spirit reborn, and a promise to return to you.

Love always,

Bella
